Who can join UKAGUZI SACCO ?

What is the procedure of joining UKAGUZI SACCO?
  • A member is required to fill in the membership application form available online by downloading, after filling send to ukaguzisacco@yahoo.com/ukaguzisacco1@gmail.com
  • Provide a copy of National ID or Passport, Current Payslip, KRA Pin certificate and a Passport size photograph
  • Pay the joining fee of Kshs. 2,000 either from payroll or Paybill 577322 account ID.

What is share capital
  • It is a requirement by the regulator that all SACCO’S have a minimum amount of Share capital and therefore all Members should have some shares to qualify them to be part of the owners of the SACCO. In our case, Ukaguzi has set Kshs. 20,000 as minimum amount to be maintained by every member.
How do I contribute towards Share Capital and what is its benefit ?
  • Member must contribute a minimum of Kshs. 20,000 in Share Capital before building member deposits. Member can contribute in installments or pay in one lump sum.
  • Member can increase his/her share capital by making direct deposit to bank or via Mpesa Paybill 577322 account member no. or Ukaguzi App
  • Benefit of Share Capital is: it earns member dividends annually
Is share capital considered when borrowing a loan.
  • No. share capital is not used to qualify for loan nor it is withdrawable. It forms core capital
Is there limit to the amount one can own as Share Capital ?
  • No member, other than a co-operative society, shall hold more than one-fifth of the issued and paid-up share capital of any cooperative society.
Why do I need to have deposits? And can I make deposit via M-Pesa ?
  • To maintain active account, all members are required to make monthly contributions of at least Kshs. 2,200. 
  • We use member deposits to give loans, the higher the deposit the greater ability to borrow, the more interest you earn annually 
  • All members contribute monthly deposit via payslip- MUST. Sacco allows members to do additional contribution via m-pesa: Paybill 577322 account. Member no. direct via Ukaguzi app.
What do I need when applying for loan ?
  • A dully filled and complete loan application form 
  • Fully guaranteed loan by guarantors who must be active members 
  • Current payslip from employer 
  • A copy of identification (National ID/Valid Passport)
  • Standing order for retirees and those outside common bond
Must I have guarantors when applying for a loan ?
  • All loans except for mobile loans-UKASH must be fully guaranteed irrespective of the amount. No self-guarantee for loans. Currently Sacco doesn’t accept collateral in form of Assets.
How much do I qualify? or how much can I borrow ?
  • Loans are based on a member’s deposits and ability to repay via payslip
  • A member must have attained minimum Share capital of Kshs. 20,000
  • Send payslip to office for advice 
How many loans can I access at a single time ?
  • A member is allowed to access maximum of three loans at any Time - One Normal loan followed by either School fees or Emergency loan
  • The loans must be within 5 times multiplier of member deposit 
  • Must have ability from payslip to repay
Can I transfer my deposit from another Sacco to UKAGUZI SACCO ?
  • A member can transfer his/her deposit from another Sacco to the Ukaguzi Sacco. A member who does so is treated as an existing (old) member even if he/she has just joined UKAGUZI SACCO. It means he/she can apply for a loan immediately without waiting for 2 months.
Can I partially withdraw my share Deposit/Savings ?
  • No. Ukaguzi Sacco is a regulated Non-Withdrawable Deposit Taking Sacco which means that partial refund of deposits is restricted by the regulator. The deposit saved in the Sacco can only be accessed through a loan or when a member is withdrawing from the Sacco. Partial withdrawal is not acceptable. 
Can I continue with my membership after retirement ?
  • Yes. Your membership is not tied to your employment. Once a member retires from work he is required to maintain account active by contributing minimum.
How do I apply loan using UKAGUZI APP OR USSD ?
  • Available to members only
  • Log in to Ukaguzi app which is available on playstore for android phones only
  • Input Mobile phone and ID as submitted on registration
  • Count down will appear. Press the word ALLOW TWICE you will be in
  • Using USSD call office 0714124335 or 0759693454 request for password reset
  • Use password sent to log in and transact.
  • Tab loan icon then apply loan, the loan button once open, Orange ICON will appear press on request guarantors.
  • Under loan icon press status to view of loan progress.
How can I get MOBILE LOAN-UKASH ?
  • Log to apply and apply UKASH LOAN once processed money is sent to you mpesa automatically. Use USSD go to number 4 mobile loan and apply
How do I remit funds to the Sacco ?
  • All monthly payments are remitted via Payroll and Standing order for those retired and outside common bond. For those making additional payment can do so via following channels:
